Shilparamam

On a Shopping spree




This is one place that i visit often with my mom and aunt, sometimes to shop sometimes to just wander around, more like a window shopping.



I was 11 when i first visited this place and i've never been bored coming here so often, the place has tranformed to its best everytime i visited.

Shilparamam is an absolute village of arts and crafts, on one side you have a rural museum and then on the other side it has hundreds of stalls by various artisans from all over India.

You will find many such statues resembling the rural side of Andhra Pradesh as you take a walk into this place


So our first stall happened to be a Jewellery store with  Beautiful Vibrant and Bold neck lines...




And if you love bangles...

Bangles in Black Metal, will make quite a statement..

From Beautiful vases to coffee mugs, Indian Pickle jars to cute little piggy banks.. they have quite a collection of all ceramics and earthenware.

And as you take a walk inside this place, you will come across some magnificent wooden carvings,

 I have seen marble Taj Mahal's for sale in many places apart from the ones we get in agra, but then i was surprised to see marble Charminar..

 Pattachitra
A traditional scroll painting originating from odisha.
They resemble old religious murals from odisha especially Puri, they use natural colors and most of them are painted on palm leaves.

In pattachithra, every painting tells a story from hindu mythology either a part or the complete story,  the above painting is about Lord Vishu's Dassavthara ..
